If you still have something to send, get it in ASAP.
if you are planning on getting one to three short stories sent in for the anthology, you still have time. I am going through the stories and assigning them positions in the book. I am also contacting authors and asking them for the needed information for the book. If you submitted something earlier, look for an email this week.

I have been reading a book by Rick Frishman and Robyn Freedman Spizman titled "Author 101." It is promoted as the "Insider's guide to promoting your book." They suggest that you have a "Silver Bullet." They say your bullet should read like a Newspaper headline and clearly explain what your book is about in basivally twenty seconds.
They suggest that you answer the following: *What is your book about? *Why is it special? *How will it benefit the reader? Your Silver Bullet should grab the reader's attention and compel them to want to know more. You should be able to deliver the Silver Bullet to someone orally within twenty seconds. If you have not grabbed someone's attention within twenty seconds, you have probably lost them all together. I know that money does not grow on trees, but if it did, I would be one happy guy. It would be so much fun being able to pursue a dream and see it to the fullest extent. I guess that everyone has dreams. I, for one, do not think that it is bad to dream. Maybe we would be really sad people, if we did not have something to dream about or hope for in our daily lives.
What would I do, if I had the money? 1. I would build a special combination book store and art store and gallery. I would teach Art at night and on the weekends. I would have a small gallery for all of my students art. I would "spot-light' books for all ages. One thing for sure, I would display books from our local authors. 2. I would run Sleepytown Press as a Traditional Publisher out of the Book Store. The benefit of having a place to display and sell the books would be an added plus. Yes, if I had the money, I would have a traditional publishing house. 3. I would open a small unique restaurant next to or connected to the book store. It would be colorful and feature all of my favorite recipes. It would also feature one of my favorite things, lights hanging from the ceiling. (Maybe chandeliers over each table.) What is your dream? Name three special things that you would do, if you had the money to do so. To dream is a good thing. I am still accepting Short Stories for the anthology. Tell your friends and neighbors and yourself to get them in as soon as possible. I would like to get the final entries this month so that I do not have to drag it out and take extra time. I plan on having the Short Story book out before Christmas. Hey, it would make a great gift for friends at the office.
