Little Bear and Honey Bee by Esther Mackey

Little Bear and Honey Bee like living in the big woods where they grew up. They have family that lives there too. Little Bear likes hanging out with Honey Bee and his family because they make Honey.
Honey Bee is friends with Little Bear because he gets to ride behind Little Bear’s ear all day long, flying around when he feels like it and resting in between.
Besides that, they have fun together meeting up with all their animal friends to play games like hide and seek. As you know, the woods are full of small animals like squirrels, skunks, and rabbits.
People can’t understand what the animals are saying but they understand each other.
They all go down to the waterfall early each day before any of the people come to see the beautiful place where they live.
There is a special place by the waterfall with a small stream, and a little bridge where they can see flowers of every color. The way they smell is amazing. It is everyone’s favorite place in the woods.
Little Bear always feels safe in the woods, even when strangers come around. Since his brothers, Joe and Ben, are big bears, he always feels safe with them nearby.
Honey bee’s family is always around the flower area getting the nectar for the Honey that they make.
Yes, spring, summer and fall are always a great time in the woods, but, of course, winter is the time to sleep.
