Publishing Fee
The fee for publishing with Sleepytown Press is $400.
That includes everything that you would ever need or want with your book. (You set the retail price.)
I use Lightning Source as my printer. They print the books and ship them via UPS to your door.
I do the formatting and designing of the cover. They are two separate files that are uploaded to Lightning Source.
When the files are uploaded, I have to pay LS a fee for the text and the cover. They keep the files and every book is printed according to those files.
They do charge a $12.00 a year fee to keep the file current. (This is paid annually by the author.)
Your book will not go to the printer until you have fully approved both files. The PDF file that you approve is the very same file that will be used to print the book.
All Black & White books will also be converted to eBooks for sale on Amazon as a Kindle Book. (You set the retail.) *Kindle Books have flowing text. For this reason, your Kindle book will never look just like the printed book.
Color Books do not easily convert to eBooks because of the "flowing text." Ask me, if you have any questions.
***Lighting Source has changed a lot of their pricing. We may have to go back to $500 as the publishing fee, in the near future. For right now, we are still publishing for $400 total.
*******If you publish and decide that you want a correction made to the text, the fee is $60.00.
*******If you publish and then decide to have a change made to the cover, the fee is $60.00.
WHAT DO YOU GET FOR YOUR INVESTMENT?
Go to the bottom of the home page and it is all listed for you.
Email your submission to [email protected]
*We do not automatically publish everything that is sent to us. If your work needs editing and/or revisions, before publishing, it is the author's responsibility to make sure the work is as near perfect as possible. You want your work to be a good as any other book out there.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Randy
