Please, forgive me for not posting here for a long time. I have been so very busy. It has been one thing after another.

First, we moved in February. Yes, we moved into a house that is big, but we did it without renting a truck or basically having any help. It took a lot of lifting and putting and throwing stuff away. So, here we are.

We are renting a house in the country and when I say country, I mean it 100%. We have turkeys in the front yard, snakes down near the water, mosquitoes, flies, lizards, bees, moths, and a scorpion. Yes, we had a scorpion on the porch this past Saturday. All in all, we love it.

There are no street lights and the stars can actually be seen at night. It is amazing.

We moved from an apartment, so, we do not have a lawn mower. There are some areas that are beginning to look like "jungle." Honest, the other day, I thought I heard monkeys in the trees.

We did have one major event. The "yard cat" chased a squirrel up a tree and forgot how to get down. It took forever to get that cat to come down the tree. I finally got her to jump on the top of an umbrella, from the table, that I held over-head. She jumped on the umbrella and then flew to the ground and hid under the porch. We gave her food and water and she started being social, again. (Did you know that fire departments really DO NOT care to come and get a cat out of a tree. They suggest a tree service and we all know that they charge an arm and a leg and a tree trunk.)

There is very little traffic and my grandson almost swears he heard a bear in the woods. At first, he thought it was a dinosaur. I think most of those are extinct.

We have Carpenter Ants. I wanted them to build me a table for the porch, but they just want to burrow through the wood. Those suckers are huge. I have never seen an ant so big. I think that trained-ones could move furniture.

So, alas, we are country folk. We are city come to the country and we love it.
